My new zune 120 is easy to use and portable.
The only problem I have had is that the radio doesn't pick up very many local stations.
I also own a 8gb mp3 player and the 120gb size of the zune is some what over the top.
I have a lot of music on it already and still plenty of room for much more.

I was so excited to upgrade to a higher capacity Zune, so imagine my disappointment when after 3 days of receiving my new, bigger Zune the hard drive failed. I spent a frustrating hour on the phone with the Zune technicians only to be told the hard drive failed (really?!) and I would have to send it in for repairs. I was out a month, between shipping it to the repair plant in Texas and having them strap it to a snail's back to return to me when it was fixed. Not to mention I had just purchased a one month Zune Marketplace pass, which they didn't honor even though I didn't have my Zune for the month it was valid.
I would seriously encourage anyone to think twice about ordering a Zune, period. The software is nightmare to navigate and the Zune Marketplace is a joke in my opinion. When I got my fixed Zune back I signed up again for a Marketplace pass, only to find out that a lot of stuff I had downloaded into my collection before my Zune broke was suddenly no longer available. It just really isn't worth the money and hassle, because unfortunately this whole thing has been one big headache and expense for me. I wouldn't do it again.

A great product for listening to music, and that's why I bought this Zune. With this iPod frenzy going on all over - I'm just sick of hearing about i-this, and i-that. I'm just tired of friends and relatives trying to shove the iPhone down my throat. Look at this app... look at that app.. see what I can do? I mean, they're nice and all... but enough already!!!!! I'm completely turned-off now with iPods... or i-anything, and I'm not anti-Apple either. I just bought my first Macintosh computer recently and I'm looking forward to using it. So because I'm so sick of the iPod frenzy - I did not even consider getting one. The Zune was perfect for music, and frankly I do not watch movies on portable devices with the screen size of an iPod or Zune, and I don't know many people that do. The lowest I'll go is a laptop. Movies are just made for big screens - I'm sorry. So, to wrap it up... with a built-in FM radio and 120Gb storage drive... the Zune really shines as an MP3/WMA device. I highly recommend it for that purpose. I also like the Zune software waaaaay better than the iTunes counterpart. When the Zune HD increases it's storage capacity some more, I'll get me one of those in a heartbeat. I'm very happy with this product!

First a bit about myself: I have owned an Apple iPod Nano 1GB for nearly 3-years, an 8GB Microsoft Zune and a 120 GB Microsoft Zune both for 14 months. I have above average PC skills and own many types of high-end electronic components.
The Low-down: My iPod Nano 1GB is still running strong after nearly 3-years of use, 2-years of which was daily use. I used it at work in a fairly dirty factory setting, in the car via FM transmitter and have used it while mowing grass for 3-years running now. I have had some issues with the battery not wanting to hold charge for very long, but some of this is expected with a battery after 3-years of repeated charging and draining. I am saying this as a reference only and NOT as an endorsement of Apple as I feel they are over priced compared to comporable MP3 Players from other manufacturers.
The 8GB Microsoft Zune was purchased in November 2009 and given to my wife as an early Christmas gift. She uses it daily in an office setting and also in her car via FM Transmitter. After less than a month of use the BACK Button on the device quit working and had to be returned to Microsoft. Returning it was easy, you can request repair online and they will send you a box and a prepaid shipping label in just a few days. You are returned a refurbished device a few days after they receive your device, total turn around time around a 8 bussiness days which was nice. Last night after roughly 14 months of use the device refuses to even power up. They are warranted for 1-year so warranty repair is not an option at this point and without even seeing the device they assign a generic $70 charge which no doubt would cover another refurbished replacement with no warranty. My complaint is for maybe $30 more you could buy a replacement that would be new and have a full warranty. Overall I feel that the money paid for the device warranted longer, more reliable use and better customer service as anyone checking the Zune Forums will find that problems such as this one are not rare they are indeed very common.
The 120GB Microsoft Zune was purchased in November 2009 and used by myself in the same manner as the above iPod except that I did not use it while mowing grass all the while being in a silicon case and handled gently with no drops. Out of the box the controls were odd to say the least as they were slow to respond at times and sometimes clicking RIGHT immediately after clicking LEFT casued the device to continue to scroll left instead of right and vice versa. I excused these quirks as possibly a result of having 120GBs of storage capacity to search through/load from. Overall I loved my 120GB Zune, it held all of my music and videos and played them back in good quality although an EQ would have been a nice addition as audio output isn't alterable at all. The Zune software is fairly easy to use and organizes your media well, but you have to sync using this software, no drag and drop from Windows Explorer or syncing with Windows Media Player. The Zune Pass subscription is amazing as it allows you to download unlimited music to your player as long as you keep your subscription current and also gives you 10 song credits per month to purchase songs that are yours to keep. My big problems started when I updated my Zune Software to v4.0 and the Device Firmware to v3.20. That day it really started running sluggish, giving error messages when trying to play certain files and sometimes locking up in the middle of playback. I formatted the player and could not sync more than 4.62GBs of data to the drive which I figured was a sign of a bad Hard Drive, but after reading on the Zune Forums that they are 15 pages of people with similar issues after updating software/firmware I believe they have caused the issue and not the failure of my device. A call to Customer Service resulted in 2 1/2 hours of device reboots, software reinstalls, etc and the final conclusion that my device was faulty and needed to be repaired for which the fee was $180! At the time I could have purchased a new 120GB Zune for $210 with full warranty so that cost was rediculous for a refurbished replacement with no warranty. To this day the Zune Forums continue to swell with people who have problems with this device after updating their software, Microsoft refused to admit that there is a problem and so I am stuck with a broken device after just over 1-year of use which is unacceptable service life for a $225 player from a major manufacturer in my opinion.
The bottom line is buy Zunes at your own risk and purchase an extended warranty if you do decide to buy, you will need it.
