Physically, this cable is fine. However, if you have up to date firmware, your Apple product won't accept this cable.

I was looking for a cable to let me charge my ipod touch and also play music directly to my stereo. I have no use for the video out, and this cable works perfectly for me. I suspect the video doesn't work correctly, which is why I get a popup from the touch telling me the cable is incompatible. For just a few dollars, this was a much better option for me than the Apple cables at $50.

I have tried several times and it does not work with my iPhone 3GS or my wife's iPhone 3G. The phone recognizes it and it appears to start working but then no video signal.

With my iPod touch 2g firmware 3.1.2, it can recharge and output audio but not video. Bad.

It should be illegal for this site to advertise that the product works for 4th generation ipod nano. That may have been true 2 or 3 yrs ago, before any user updated the firmware for the product. But it is no longer true.
