I bought this because I wanted to play my Ipod 3rd Gen through my stereo or TV. I saw that it also works for video so I thought that would be a bonus; HOWEVER, IT DOES NOT DISPLAY VIDEO. I have plugged this into several areas of my TV and I still get no video. The sound is good and is much better then the option of plugging into my earphone jack on the Ipod. So, this serves the purpose on why I bought it, but the added bonus of displaying video isn't there. All in all, if you don't want to purchase a docking station for $50+ this will allow you to play music through your TV/Stereo.

Plugged it into my dvd/vcr front, put it on vcr, put it on L1, plugged the touch in and it worked. Enough said. Great price and it works. Just don't upgrade the firmware and you're set.

This is the 2nd ipod to TV adapter I purchased. I love this one because it uses the speaker port on the Ipod which means you can also plug in a charger while you are videos on the TV. I was looking for a cable to let me charge my ipod touch and also play music directly to my stereo. I have no use for the video out, and this cable works perfectly for me. I suspect the video doesn't work correctly, which is why I get a popup from the touch telling me the cable is incompatible. For just a few dollars, this was a much better option for me than the Apple cables at $50.

It should be illegal for this site to advertise that the product works for 4th generation ipod nano. That may have been true 2 or 3 yrs ago, before any user updated the firmware for the product. But it is no longer true.

This item does not work with the Iphone 3G and Ipod touch 3G as advertised. Probably the reason why it is being sold for 1 cent.
The reason for this is because Apple decided to make things complicated for everyone and no longer support both 12V and 5V charging. Accessory Manufacturers were apparently warned about this 1 year in advance but whoever is selling this item on amazon is falsely advertising it as compatible with the newest generation iPhones and iPod touch.
DO NOT BUY THIS ITEM IF YOU OWN A 3G IPHONE OR IPOD TOUCH.
